Note: We can only convert your DOS Data from Version 9.43 and greater.
All your data including your cards and letters, dates, income and expenses, notes and search categoies will be converted but because of the limitations of the conversion process the merge fields in your letters will come out as text. ( Which means that it will tell you what goes where but it will not automatically put the field in the letter) You must reinsert the merge fields in your letters the 1st time that you wish to use them. Once the Merge fields are inserted in the letter the merge fields will operate just fine.
Mailing instructions for Data Conversion:
If you are converting from version 11.xx or greater we will convert 1 database for FREE. Each additional database will cost $50. Conversion from Version 10.xx or greater is $100 for the 1st database and each additional is $50. Conversion from Version 9.XX is $100 and each additional database is $75.
Instructions for sending your data:
1. Make a backup copy of your database. It would be a good idea to make 2 copies, one for us and 1 for you.
2. Send a copy of your data along with any necessary payment for conversion to OnTrac Computer Systems Inc., 14050 South Fitzgerald Court, Draper Utah 84020.
3. Enclose a self addressed, postage paid Fed X with a copy of your data base and payment for conversion. Please remove any password protection from your database.
4. Please send us an email at Sales@otcs.com and let us know that you are sending your data so that we can be on the watch for it.
We normally attempt to convert the data immediately after receiving it. Please allow 1-2 days for conversion. and 1 day for return. What this means to you is that any data that you enter prior to receiving the conversion will have to be reentered.
